Just ….wow!

It’s been just shy of two weeks since the book launch for Jennifer’s Choice: A Right to Die Story. My publicist, Marika Groendyk, did a great job with the press release – her wordsmithing caught the attention of many media sites and has resulted in two radio interviews, a tv appearance, three articles and that press release was included in 22 different media outlets to start and has been picked up by a few more. I’ve been asked to speak to several groups, and people who have lost a loved one to MAID have reached out to me to say they could totally relate to the book and my experience. It has meant a lot to me to have these people contact me, and I have responded to every one of them, as kindly and compassionately as I could.

it does make me wonder if there needs to be a grief support group for the friends and family members of those who’ve chosen to die via medical assistance. There are grief groups for those who’ve lost a spouse, lost a child, lost someone to suicide but none of those quite fit for those of us who grieve due to a MAID death. Some emotions are the same, but there are other complex layers that may not be the same for other people grieving losses. It begs the question: do we do this?

I’ll leave this blog post open to comments because I really want to hear your feedback!
